VIDEO: #22 of 2016-17 - She's figuring it out

May 20, 2017

22. Gabrielle Daleman CAN
2017 World Team Trophy free skate

It was yet another transformative season for Canada's Gabrielle Daleman.

You can trace her trajectory back to the World Championships last season, when she delivered two solid programs at the biggest event of the season and proved to herself that she can hang with the best. And the momentum continued at Trophee de France this season in her short program, where she blew past the 70-point mark for the first time in her career internationally.

And so Daleman flew into this season's Worlds with confidence like she never had before and jumped her way to a bronze medal. It was on the basis of her massive jumps and, this season, a refined style that she worked incredibly hard on improving over the past few seasons. All of a sudden, she finds herself a bonafide Olympic medal contender.

It was this free skate at World Team Trophy, though, that provided both the technical prowess that she's know for and the joy (and relief) of finishing a career-best season. You can't really ask for much more.
