VIDEO: #35 of 2016-17 - Here comes the Spider-Man

May 9, 2017

35. Boyang Jin CHN
2017 Worlds short program

At the start of the season, the concept of Boyang Jin doing a Michael Buble Spider-Man program 1) was completely foreign to most people, and 2) potentially had disaster written all over it. By the end of the season, this short program became one oft he most fun and personality-driven vehicles that we saw from any skater.

Jin made the most out of this music and his endearing presence, and his performance quality developed during the season to the point where he really embodied every bit of the choreography in it. It helped that his skating quality improved as the season went along as well. You can tell that he is invested in going beyond just a guy with impeccable quads and to growing as a performer.

His ending step sequence is everything. #Spidershimmies
