When you're already Olympic champions, it really is tough to imagine that you can actually get better than you already were. But boy oh boy, after a two-season layoff, Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir did just that.

THEY. GOT. BETTER.

It was particularly evident in their short dance, which became their absolute best short dance or original dance ever. The only other one that even comes close was their flamenco original dance during the 2009-10 season, when they won their Olympic gold. A number of skaters did programs to Prince this season, but none of them did it quite like Virtue/Moir did it.

Their music choice, their smooth precision, their absolute inhibition and freedom - this was the greatest short dance of all time.

And yeah, no need for me to talk more about it. It speaks for itself.
