Last year, Misha Ge left us with quite a cliffhanger at the end of the season. Will he or won’t he retire after a successful season. After years of nagging injuries, he needed time to figure out whether or not he was actually fit enough to put his ankles through another year of training and competing.

Luckily for the skating world, Ge gave it one more season and gave us more classics. In his final season and in his final Grand Prix event, he finally earned a well-deserved Grand Prix medal, and he did it with this ethereal free skate.

... it was too bad his only Grand Prix medal would be a plastic one.

This entire competition would end up being one of the finest in Ge's career. The artistic touches he left on the sport will be felt for ages, especially since he has now become a full-fledged choreographer in his post-competition career.
