From one Turandot to another.

Shoma Uno made it known VERY early in the Olympic season that he was here to slay. And it may have been one of the greatest early-season programs we’ve ever seen. This free skate at Lombardia Trophy looked seasoned and prepared - and boy, did he bring the jumps.

None of the free skates he put down the rest of the season quite had the firepower of this one - with the exception of the step out on his opening quad loop, he was perfect. He tried five quads (four different types) and hit four of them cleanly, plus two triple axels in combination.

For me, this was Uno’s standout performance of the season … but I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight his short program at the Olympics, which helped him to his Olympic silver medal.
