A year ago, Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue went into Nationals with the belief that they were deserving of becoming national champions. But a fall in the free dance took them out of the title hunt.

This year, they came into the US Championships with that same belief, except this time, they were able to put it all together, bolstered by this powerful, spectacular free dance that was such a showcase of everything they are exceptionally good at.

This free dance is at its most impactful live in person. At its best, which was the case here in San Jose, it reaches every single person in the audience.

And on the heels of this breakthrough at Nationals, they won their first World medal, thanks in big part to their sizzling short dance in Milano.
