Two years ago, Tarah Kayne/Danny O’Shea won the US title. A year later, we were wondering if they could recover from a disastrous season, a nagging injury that required surgery, and a concussion suffered at the US Championships.

And so it was promising - surprising, even - when they returned to the US Championships this year looking more solid than ever, looking fantastic in practice en route to taking the silver. But the icing on the cake was that, with new choreography and direction, they transformed as a pair.

Their Swan Lake free skate, choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne and Shae Zukiwsky, gave them a new platform of expression. It was a more sophisticated look than we’ve ever seen. And it made them the Four Continents champions.
